The Searching for Parish Engagement Scale (SPES) is a pastoral instrument developed by Fr Brendan Reed, a Melbourne parish priest, to provide parishes and parish workers with both a framework for understanding their current cultural context and a diagnostic tool through which the views of members of their parish can be examined and possible responses prepared. Any school thinking of completing their ECSI survey in combination with a parish SPES survey is asked to speak to Sr Geraldine Larkins or David Walker.
